Mainframe Developer

Insight Global is seeking a Mainframe Developer to support a major integration initiative with a client in the midstream oil/gas space in Houston TX. This is a 6 month contract, the goal to hire. Office days are 4 days per week in Houston Mon-Thu, with Fridays remote. Ability to work a 9/80 schedule or 40 hour work week. The individual will support the entire mainframe ecosystem and responsibilities include code changes/enhancements, system integration work, documentation updates and cross-functional support. The candidate will join a team of 8 others and be someone who is interested in a long-term career path, with an eagerness to learn.

• 1-5+ years of mainframe experience - IBM z/OS
• COBOL programming language
• Experience with structured databases (IMS database, DB2 database)
• Eagerness to learn, self-starter, team player, coachable - Midstream oil/gas experience
• Financial system experience - accounting, finance, settlements, trading/schedule, billing
• PL1 coding language
• CICS
• JCL mainframe
• Easytrieve plus
• SQL scripting, XML, azure devops, AI tools
