Lead and mentor other DBAs by setting priorities, coordinating work, reviewing technical approaches, and promoting consistent standards and practices. Provide clear direction during incidents, upgrades, migrations, and other high-impact activities. Identify opportunities to automate routine administration, improve monitoring, strengthen controls, standardize processes, and increase operational efficiency. Support database security, access management, documentation, governance, compliance, and audit-related activities. Required Qualifications: Extensive hands-on DBA experience in complex enterprise environments with strong practical expertise in IBM Db2, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and AWS RDS. Experience should include configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, backup and recovery, patching, upgrades, and migrations. Experience supporting mission-critical systems with demanding availability, performance, security, and recovery requirements in AWS environments. Ability to diagnose issues across databases, applications, operating systems, networks, and cloud infrastructure. Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, or coordinating database professionals. Strong technical judgment, accountability, communication, and stakeholder-management skills. Self-directed, proactive, and comfortable working in ambiguous or fast-moving environments. Preferred Qualifications: Experience supporting large-scale, highly available, or regulated environments. Familiarity with database automation, scripting, cloud operations, infrastructure monitoring, IT service management, and formal change-control processes. Experience with AWS database services beyond Amazon RDS, cloud migration, infrastructure as code, and hybrid database environments is a plus. What Success Looks Like: Success in this role means stable, secure, resilient, and high-performing database platforms, along with a well-supported DBA team and strong operational discipline.
