Job description

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex capital projects involving Radiation Monitoring Systems (Rad Mon) and associated plant digital infrastructure at a commercial nuclear power plant. This role is responsible for managing projects from concept through implementation, including engineering, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning, and closeout while ensuring compliance with NRC regulations, plant procedures, cybersecurity requirements, and industry standards.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing projects involving radiation monitoring systems, operational parameter monitoring, nuclear safety systems, industrial networking, firewalls, switches, servers, and plant digital infrastructure. This individual will work closely with engineering, operations, maintenance, information technology, cybersecurity, and vendors to successfully execute plant modernization and system upgrade initiatives., * Lead the full lifecycle of capital projects involving Radiation Monitoring Systems (Rad Mon) and plant digital upgrades.

  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, risk, procurement, execution, commissioning, and project closeout.
  • Coordinate engineering design, procurement, construction, installation, testing, startup, and turnover activities.
  • Manage projects involving radiation monitoring systems, operational parameter monitoring systems, plant safety systems, industrial control systems, network infrastructure, firewalls, switches, and associated hardware.
  • Interface with engineering, operations, maintenance, IT, cybersecurity, and vendors to ensure successful project execution.
  • Coordinate system outages, implementation windows, and plant operational impacts.
  • Review engineering packages, technical specifications, vendor documentation, and installation procedures.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and resource planning using established project management processes.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to maintain schedule and budget commitments.
  • Lead project meetings, status reviews, executive reporting, and stakeholder communications.
  • Ensure compliance with NRC regulations, nuclear quality standards, cybersecurity requirements, and plant procedures.
  • Oversee contractor performance, vendor coordination, and field implementation activities.
  • Support system testing, commissioning, turnover, and final acceptance activities.
  • Promote a strong nuclear safety culture while ensuring compliance with all human performance and quality requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10-12 years of Project Management experience supporting commercial nuclear power plant projects or other highly regulated industrial environments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects involving Radiation Monitoring Systems (Rad Mon) or similar plant monitoring and instrumentation systems.
  • Experience with operational parameter monitoring systems, plant safety systems, and digital control systems.
  • Working knowledge of industrial networking components including firewalls, network switches, servers, communications infrastructure, and system integration.
  • Experience managing engineering, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Proven ability to manage project scope, schedules, budgets, risk, and contractor performance.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams in a highly regulated environment., * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent industry experience).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Previous commercial nuclear power plant experience.
  • Experience supporting digital modernization or plant upgrade projects.
  • Knowledge of NRC regulations, NEI guidance, nuclear quality assurance programs, and cybersecurity requirements.
  • Experience working with engineering change packages, plant modifications, and capital project implementation.
  • Familiarity with industrial control systems (ICS), SCADA, DCS, network architecture, and system integration.
  • Experience with project management tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, SAP, Maximo, or similar platforms.
