Job description

We are seeking experienced Epic Data & Analytics professionals who can work with Epic’s reporting, analytics, and data warehouse technologies to support enterprise healthcare initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a combination of Epic certification, hands-on technical experience, strong healthcare data knowledge, and the ability to work with complex Epic data environments.

This is an opportunity to work alongside experienced Epic professionals on enterprise-level healthcare data, reporting, analytics, and optimization initiatives.

What You’ll Be Doing

Depending on your area of expertise, responsibilities may include:

  • Support and maintain Epic Clarity, Cogito, and/or Caboodle environments.
  • Work with Epic data models and healthcare data structures.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize Epic reports, dashboards, and analytics solutions.
  • Extract, transform, validate, and analyze Epic data.
  • Perform data validation between Epic applications, Clarity, Cogito, Caboodle, and downstream reporting environments.
  • Analyze complex healthcare data to identify trends, discrepancies, and data quality issues.
  • Translate business and clinical requirements into reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and develop appropriate Epic data solutions.
  • Troubleshoot data, reporting, and integration issues.
  • Support Epic implementations, upgrades, optimization initiatives, and data migration activities.
  • Perform data validation and testing during implementations and system changes.
  • Collaborate with Epic application analysts, reporting teams, data engineers, clinical teams, Revenue Cycle teams, and business stakeholders.
  • Document data models, reporting logic, specifications, testing results, and technical processes.
  • Participate in production support and issue resolution when required.

Clarity Experience

Candidates with Epic Clarity experience may support activities such as:

  • Working with Epic Clarity data models
  • SQL-based data extraction and validation
  • Building or supporting reports using Clarity data
  • Understanding relationships between Epic application data and Clarity reporting tables
  • Data validation and reconciliation
  • Report development and optimization
  • Troubleshooting reporting and data issues
  • Supporting enterprise healthcare reporting requirements

Cogito Experience

Candidates with Epic Cogito experience may support:

  • Epic analytics and reporting initiatives
  • Cogito data models and analytics workflows
  • Reporting and dashboard development
  • Data validation and reconciliation
  • Healthcare analytics
  • Clinical and operational reporting
  • Revenue Cycle analytics
  • Troubleshooting and optimization of Epic analytics solutions

Caboodle Experience

Candidates with Epic Caboodle experience may support:

  • Epic enterprise data warehouse environments
  • Healthcare data warehouse development
  • Caboodle data models
  • Data extraction and transformation
  • Data validation and quality assurance
  • Enterprise reporting and analytics
  • Integration of Epic data with downstream systems
  • Supporting large-scale healthcare analytics initiatives

Requirements

We are looking for experienced Epic Clarity, Cogito, and Caboodle professionals to support a large-scale Epic Data & Analytics initiative.

Active Epic certification is required, and hands-on experience working with Epic’s data and analytics platforms is strongly preferred.

This is NOT a generic healthcare data analyst, BI analyst, reporting analyst, or SQL developer position.

Candidates should have direct experience working with Epic Clarity, Cogito, and/or Caboodle and be able to explain their hands-on experience with Epic data models, reporting, analytics, data extraction, validation, or data warehouse environments.

Required Epic Certification

Candidates must have an ACTIVE Epic certification in at least one of the following areas:

  • Epic Clarity
  • Epic Cogito
  • Epic Caboodle, * ACTIVE Epic Clarity, Cogito, and/or Caboodle certification
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience working with Epic data, reporting, analytics, or data warehouse environments
  • Hands-on experience with at least one of the following:
  • Epic Clarity
  • Epic Cogito
  • Epic Caboodle
  • Strong understanding of healthcare data and Epic workflows.
  • Experience working with complex healthcare datasets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with data validation, reporting, analytics, or data extraction.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Strongly Preferred

Candidates with the following experience will be highly preferred:

  • Multiple Epic certifications across Clarity, Cogito, and Caboodle
  • Strong SQL experience
  • Experience with Epic data models
  • Experience supporting enterprise Epic implementations
  • Experience with Epic reporting and analytics
  • Experience with SlicerDicer, Reporting Workbench, Radar, or other Epic reporting tools
  • Experience with healthcare data warehouses
  • Experience with data integration and ETL processes
  • Experience supporting clinical, financial, operational, or Revenue Cycle reporting
  • Experience with data quality and reconciliation
  • Experience with Epic upgrades and optimization initiatives
  • Experience working with large healthcare systems or integrated delivery networks
  • Experience with ServiceNow, Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar tools
  • Agile/Scrum experience

What Will Make You Stand Out

We are especially interested in candidates who can demonstrate hands-on Epic data and analytics experience, rather than simply holding an Epic certification.

Strong candidates should be able to explain:

  • Which Epic platform(s) they have worked with
  • Which Epic certifications they currently hold
  • What Epic data models they have worked with
  • What reports, dashboards, analytics, or data solutions they have developed or supported
  • How they have used Clarity, Cogito, or Caboodle in their day-to-day work
  • How they have validated Epic data
  • What SQL or data extraction work they have personally performed
  • What Epic implementation, upgrade, or optimization projects they have supported
  • How they have resolved data quality or reporting issues

We are looking for professionals who have actually worked within the Epic data ecosystem-not simply healthcare professionals who have experience with generic reporting or SQL.

Important: Epic Certification vs. Generic Analytics Experience, * Healthcare Data Engineer without Epic Clarity/Cogito/Caboodle experience

  • Epic application experience without relevant Clarity/Cogito/Caboodle exposure

The ideal candidate will have both active Epic certification and meaningful hands-on experience with Epic’s data, reporting, analytics, or data warehouse platforms., * Epic Caboodle Certification - Required
