Job description
This is a Full Time, 12-month, federally-funded grant position with excellent benefits. Position will report to the Executive Vice President of Redlands Community College.
The Director is responsible for the strategic planning, overall administration, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of the U.S. Department of Education-funded Veterans Upward Bound grant project., * Overall administration, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of the U.S. Department of Education-funded Veterans Upward Bound grant at Redlands Community College.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal regulations, grant requirements, state directives, and college policies.
- Supervise and evaluate program personnel.
- Develop and manage the annual budget.
- Authorize and monitor expenditures.
- Maintain participant records and databases.
- Collect and analyze program data.
- Prepare accurate and timely reports, including the Annual Performance Report.
- Oversee academic and support services, participant progress, staff professional development and performance evaluations, program policies and procedures, short- and long-range goals, and outreach, marketing, and recruitment activities.
- Maintain confidentiality, complying with applicable privacy requirements, demonstrating knowledge of veterans’ benefits and service organizations, and representing Veterans Upward Bound to internal and external constituencies.
- Additional travel required to serve veterans in other counties of the target area as required., Redlands provides email notifications to all students, faculty and staff when a Clery Crime occurs in or near Redlands Community College campus or any of its sites. These notifications are primarily sent if the incident poses an ongoing safety threat as determined by the President of the College or his designee. The act requires colleges and universities to make “timely warnings,” known as “Safety Alerts” at Redlands, to campus community members about specific types of crime if an ongoing threat is believed to exist.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree required in education, counseling or related field.
- Applicant must have excellent budget-management skills.
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, Teams, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong time-management, multitasking, organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Valid Oklahoma driver’s license in good standing.
Preference will be given to applicants who served in the military and received an Honorable Discharge or General Discharge under Honorable Conditions, have been awarded a VA disability rating, have used VA education benefits, and/or have successfully overcome barriers similar to those faced by the Veterans Upward Bound target population., All Faculty must meet our Standard of Practice - Minimally Qualified Faculty degree qualifications.
