HRU Technical Resources is seeking an experienced Test Engineer II to support the verification, validation, and qualification of advanced aerospace and defense systems. This role is responsible for developing test plans, authoring technical procedures, executing system-level testing, analyzing results, and ensuring products meet customer requirements, military standards, and regulatory compliance. - Develop test plans, verification strategies, and acceptance criteria from system requirements.
- Create and maintain Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs), verification plans, and technical test documentation.
- Support system Verification & Validation (V&V) throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Define test objectives to validate functionality, performance, reliability, and compliance.
Test Development & Execution
- Plan and execute:
- Functional Testing
- Integration Testing
- Environmental Testing
- Performance Testing
- Qualification Testing
- Configure test equipment, instrumentation, and supporting software.
- Document test results and verify compliance with engineering requirements.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, identify root causes, and support corrective actions.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain:
- Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs)
- Test Plans
- Test Procedures
- Verification Reports
- Test Reports
- Engineering Documentation
- Maintain organized records supporting customer and regulatory requirements.
- Present technical findings and recommendations to engineering teams and program leadership.
Engineering Support
- Interpret electrical schematics, engineering drawings, interface documentation, and technical specifications.
- Collaborate with systems, software, electrical, and project engineering teams throughout development.
- Recommend improvements to product performance, reliability, manufacturability, and test processes.
Test Automation & Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve testing efficiency through automation.
- Develop or support automated test scripts using C/C++, Python, or similar programming languages.
- Improve testing methodologies, documentation, and engineering processes.
- Stay current on emerging testing technologies and industry best practices.
Compliance & Quality
- Ensure products comply with customer requirements, military standards, and quality management systems.
- Support qualification testing in accordance with applicable MIL-STDs and other regulatory requirements.
- Participate in design reviews, verification activities, and continuous improvement initiatives., We’re looking for a Test Engineer with experience supporting complex aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated engineering environments. The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on testing, technical problem solving, developing detailed test procedures, and working closely with hardware and software engineers to ensure products meet demanding performance and military qualification requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience developing and executing verification and validation (V&V) test plans.
- Experience writing Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs) and technical test documentation.
- Ability to read and interpret:
- Electrical schematics
- Engineering drawings
- Technical documentation
- Familiarity with MIL-STD qualification testing and defense industry testing requirements.
- Experience performing system verification and qualification testing.
- Working knowledge of C/C++, or a comparable programming language.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in an engineering discipline.
- Experience supporting aerospace or defense programs.
- Experience using laboratory and environmental test equipment, including:
- Oscilloscopes
- Spectrum Analyzers
- Environmental Chambers
- Knowledge of:
- MIL-STD requirements
- DO-178C
- DO-254
- AS9100
- Experience developing automated test solutions using Python, C/C++, or similar programming languages.
