Job description
We’re looking for a highly capable Project Manager to lead the execution of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) deployments for municipal and cooperative utilities. This role ensures smooth project delivery from kickoff to closeout, coordinating across internal teams, vendors, and utility stakeholders to meet scope, schedule, and budget objectives., * Lead end-to-end AMI deployment projects, including scheduling, planning, resource management, and status reporting
- Serve as the primary point of contact for utilities, installers, and internal technical teams
- Coordinate meter exchanges, network installations, and software integrations
- Track milestones, manage timelines, and escalate risks or delays as needed
- Manage subcontractors, ensuring quality standards, safety compliance, and timely performance
- Facilitate utility training, project documentation, and final closeout reporting
- Travel to customer sites for kickoff meetings, progress reviews, and issue resolution
- Work cross-functionally with customer service, engineering, and sales to ensure project success
Requirements
- 3+ years of project management experience, preferably in utilities, metering, or infrastructure
- Experience managing multi-phase deployments involving field teams and utility coordination
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to interpret technical documentation, work plans, and project scopes
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar)
- Willingness to travel regularly as needed (75%), * Background in AMI technologies, including water, gas, or electric metering systems
- Familiarity with RF mesh or cellular network communication platforms
- Knowledge of billing system integration or meter data management (MDM) platforms
- PMP certification or equivalent project management training
- Experience working with public utilities or government procurement projects
