Job description

Join our innovative team as a Senior ATE Test Development Engineer (), where you will be at the forefront of designing, developing, and optimizing automated test systems for complex electronic products. This role offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in electrical engineering, system design, and automation to ensure the highest quality standards in manufacturing environments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop robust testing solutions, troubleshoot technical issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Your contributions will directly impact product reliability and manufacturing efficiency, making a tangible difference in a fast-paced, technology-driven setting., * Lead the development and validation of Automated Test Equipment (ATE) for semiconductor and electronic component testing, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as NFPA 70.

  • Design and implement electrical schematics, PCB layouts, and system architectures using CAD software like AutoCAD, Revit, or SolidWorks to support test system integration.
  • Develop and program test sequences using SystemVerilog, C++, Python, MATLAB, and scripting languages to automate testing processes and improve throughput.
  • Perform root cause analysis on test failures or system malfunctions by analyzing signal processing data, debugging hardware/software issues, and utilizing simulation tools like Simulink.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers on PCB design, FPGA programming, SoC integration, and soldering techniques to optimize test hardware performance.
  • Conduct engineering testing and validation of electrical systems, control systems, and automation workflows to ensure reliability and compliance with electrical building codes.
  • Support manufacturing by troubleshooting production line issues related to electrical systems or automation equipment while maintaining safety standards such as NEC compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Extensive experience practicing in an industrial or manufacturing engineering role focused on electronics design, system development verification, or automation.
  • Strong proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD Revit, MicroStation), simulation tools (MATLAB/Simulink), and programming languages including C++, Python, Perl, and scripting for engineering applications.
  • Hands-on experience with PCB design (Surface Mount Technology), FPGA development (including ARM architectures), programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and firmware programming.
  • Knowledge of electrical schematic design, control systems engineering, surface mount technology assembly techniques, and electrical system design principles.
  • Familiarity with industrial automation systems such as vision inspection systems and communication protocols for engineering specialty applications.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis using tools like Ohmmeters or signal analyzers; skilled in debugging hardware/software issues efficiently.
  • Mechanical knowledge related to mechanical engineering principles; experience with mechanical CAD tools such as Revit or SolidWorks is a plus.
  • Excellent project scheduling skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines; strong troubleshooting skills are essential.
