The Research Data Coordinator supports the Lymphoma Observational & Translational Research (LOTR) program within the Department of Lymphoma and Myeloma at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. This role focuses on delivering high-quality patient-facing research support and precise clinical data abstraction for lymphoma and myeloma standard-of-care research initiatives. The Research Data Coordinator works closely with patients, clinicians, and research teams to ensure data integrity, protocol compliance, and accurate documentation.

The Research Data Coordinator is expected to work independently with limited oversight while maintaining strong collaboration with multidisciplinary clinical and research teams.
The Research Data Coordinator plays a critical role in patient engagement, clinical research operations, and biospecimen coordination. This Research Data Coordinator position is fully onsite and embedded within a fast-paced clinical research environment dedicated to excellence in cancer research and patient care. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and passionate about data quality, with an interest in clinical research and patient interaction; education, work experience, and licenses or certifications align with the minimum requirements for a research data coordinator role, with the ability to learn disease-specific concepts, follow human subject research guidelines, and perform responsibilities with professionalism and accountability., Perform informed consent procedures for minimal risk research protocols in accordance with institutional policies and research guidelines Educate patients on research studies and assist them in considering enrollment when eligibility criteria are met Assist patients in completing study questionnaires and required study procedures Screen and identify patients based on protocol eligibility and exclusion criteria
Data Entry and Clinical Data Abstraction
Develop detailed knowledge of lymphoma disease processes, treatments, biomarkers, and clinical prognostics Interpret and accurately abstract disease-specific and outcomes data from clinician notes, imaging, laboratory values, pathology reports, and other EMR documentation Record outcomes of study visits and complete required documentation in study databases per protocol and institutional guidelines
Translational Research Support
Screen for and identify standard-of-care biospecimen collections required for research Coordinate, collect, process, and distribute research biospecimens in a timely manner Enter research-related order requests in the EMR and ensure availability of supplies for clinical staff Collaborate with clinical trial teams to support successful biospecimen collection and processing, This position may be responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of critical infrastructure, as defined in Section 113.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code and therefore may require routine reviews and screening. The ability to satisfy and maintain all requirements necessary to ensure the continued security and integrity of such infrastructure is a condition of hire and continued employment.
