Job description
This fellowship offers a hands-on opportunity to work with a live CRM system in a mission-driven nonprofit environment. The Fellow will support reporting improvements, data quality initiatives, and documentation that helps staff use Salesforce effectively in their daily work., The Fellow’s work will contribute to improving internal capacity and ensuring that data supports effective service delivery to communities across Hillsborough County., The Salesforce Optimization & Data Insights Fellow will:
· Review and refine a prioritized set of existing Salesforce reports and dashboards
· Build and document priority reports aligned with operational needs
· Conduct basic data quality assessments and help standardize key fields
· Observe and analyze how staff interact with Salesforce workflows
· Create 3-5 quick reference guides (QRGs) and user-friendly documentation
· Translate Salesforce data into clear summaries for leadership and program teams
· Summarize recommendations for future system improvements, · Location: Hybrid; in-person presence at HCMOW headquarters in Manchester, NH, with some remote work as appropriate.
TRAINING AND SUPERVISION
The Fellow will receive structured training and supervision throughout the program.
Support will include:
· Organizational onboarding and introduction to HCMOW programs
· Overview of the Salesforce system and expectations for fellowship deliverables
· Weekly check-ins with the supervising Vice President
· Guided walkthroughs of relevant Salesforce reports and dashboards
· Opportunities to observe staff workflows through limited observational meetings
· Completion of standard onboarding requirements, including confidentiality and data-access acknowledgments
The Fellow’s work will be completed independently between check-ins, with staff guidance focused on mentorship, feedback, and learning.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Organizational skills?, The ideal candidate will be a current undergraduate or graduate student (preferred rising junior, senior, or early master’s) with an interest in technology, data, and nonprofit operations.
Preferred qualifications include:
· Coursework or interest in Information Technology, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Operations, or related fields
· Comfort working with data using tools such as Excel, reporting tools, or dashboards
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to learn new systems using documentation and guidance
· Interest in how technology supports nonprofit or public-service work
· Prior Salesforce experience is helpful but not required.
