Job description

We are seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer or Lead Software Engineer to join our Enterprise License Management (ELM) product team. ELM is the homegrown software tool State Farm uses to manage producer and adjuster licenses and appointments. It touches every Agent, Agent Team Member, Claim Rep and more - so the work has real impact for State Farm. This is an AWESOME opportunity to help build, evolve and support ELM. You’ll join a diverse product team that works hard while keeping a fun positive vibe. You’ll work across the full tech stack from data to UI. Below is more detailed information to help you determine if this opportunity is a good fit for you. Qualifications: We Are Seeking Candidates With:

  • Java
  • JavaScript / TypeScript
  • RESTful API design and development
  • JSON / JSONB data modeling

  • SQL (PostgreSQL, DB2)
  • HTML / CSS (email templates, UI markup)

  • React (current UI framework)

  • Spring Boot (Java microservices)

  • PostgreSQL (primary operational database, including JSONB querying)
  • DB2 (mainframe/legacy data - modernization in progress)

  • AWS (cloud platform - data migration, tenant accounts, CloudTrace)
  • Terraform (infrastructure as code; dedicated elm-terraform repo with modules)
  • ROSA (Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS)

  • GitLab CI/CD (source control, pipelines, merge requests)

  • Dynatrace (application performance monitoring, user session analysis)

Requirements

  • Consistently high engagement and ownership over your work
  • Experience and comfort working in an agile environment
  • Ability to quickly adapt to a changing environment
  • Willing to challenge ideas and comfortable having your ideas challenged
  • Experience using AI tools in engineering work
  • Production support, monitoring, and incident response
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Potential starting salary range: $85,500 - $150,000

  • Starting salary will be based on skills, background, and experience. High end of the range limited to applicants with significant relevant experience
