Senior Software Engineer

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be a key contributor to our engineering team, designing and building robust backend systems that power core business applications. You will take ownership of complex technical projects, mentor junior engineers, and directly influence the architecture and scalability of our platform, ensuring high performance and reliability., Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services and APIs using Java and SQL/MySQL.

• Lead code reviews - maintain median review turnaround under 24 hours.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, architects, and cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and deliver impactful features.
• Optimize database queries and schemas to improve system performance - measurably reduce query latency by ~20% within the first year.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, identifying root causes and implementing long-term solutions - reduce production incidents by ~30% YoY.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers - measurably reduce their time-to-first-PR by ~2 weeks.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and evaluate their potential to improve our engineering processes and solutions.

5+ years of total professional software engineering experience, with at least 4 years of hands-on development in Java.

• Strong proficiency in backend server development and relational databases (SQL, MySQL).
• Excellent communication skills: ability to articulate technical decisions clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven experience designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Solid understanding of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of modern CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
