Job description
At My Health Onsite, we’re passionate about helping people live healthier, happier lives. As a Dietetic Technician, Registered (DTR), you’ll work with our onsite providers and wellness team to deliver nutrition education, promote healthy eating, and support patients in reaching their wellness goals through engaging programs and events., Work with onsite providers to implement ongoing wellness program initiatives and events that create awareness and motivation to help patients adapt and maintain a well-rounded healthy lifestyle.
Give recommendations and update current guidelines on the wellness portion of the patient portal.
Educate patients in nutrition wellness and positively coach each patient towards meeting their disease or weight management goals.
Provide education/counseling under the guidance of an RDN for patients and their families, to manage or prevent chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and obesity.
Coordinate with the wellness team to provide wellness and health education, seminars, webinars and onsite learning. Create employee awareness of the services of these entities.
Coordinate, prepare and distribute all pre and post program/event communications, advertising and/or public relations materials.
Provide input on programs initiated by client’s Wellness Committee/Wellness Coordinator.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, dietetics, or related area, granted by an accredited college or university.
At least 1 year of DTR experience in a clinical setting.
Completion of a dietetic technician program, or completion of required nutrition and dietetics coursework through a Didactic Program in Dietetics accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics to qualify for credentialing.
Dietetic technician, registered (DTR) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
Understand CPT and ICD10 Codes.
Proficient with Microsoft Office and electronic medical record (EMR).
Protect the privacy of our patients by following HIPAA guidelines.
Skillful at public speaking and giving presentations.
Ability to counsel/teach in one-on-one or small group settings.
Ability to effectively communicate with staff and patients using excellent written and verbal skills.
Friendly personality and ability to work well as a team member.
Benefits & conditions
Schedule: Mon, Wed, Thurs and Fri, 8am - 5pm; Tuesday 10am - 7pm or 8am - 5pm (depending on need)
Monday and Friday-onsite at Osceola
Tuesday-remote ( at home if secure)
1st and 3rd Wednesdays-onsite at Oviedo
Remaining Wednesdays-remote until client increases volume-possible
Thursday-onsite at Apopka
