Job description
The Principal Solutions Architect leads the development of innovative, mission-focused technical solutions for large federal and defense opportunities. The role serves as the technical lead across capture, proposal, business development, operations, and engineering teams, with a focus on enterprise IT, cloud, cybersecurity, DevSecOps, AI/ML, automation, and modernization. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of compliant, executable technical solutions for federal and defense opportunities.
- Serve as the technical lead for priority captures and proposals.
- Translate customer mission requirements into technical architectures and scalable operational solutions.
- Lead solutioning sessions, architecture reviews, and technical workshops.
- Balance innovation, technical maturity, operational feasibility, cost realism, and competitive differentiation.
- Support the development of technical capabilities, service offerings, and technology roadmaps.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, market trends, and mission requirements.
- Develop reusable solution components and standardized technical approaches.
- Provide technical leadership across cloud, cybersecurity, AI/ML, automation, DevSecOps, and enterprise IT transformation.
- Recommend practical applications of emerging technologies aligned with customer missions.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to executives, engineers, customers, and non-technical stakeholders.
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor during customer engagements, technical exchanges, presentations, and strategic growth activities.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Systems Engineering, Data Analytics, or related technical discipline.
- Advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in solutions architecture, enterprise architecture, systems engineering, or technical leadership.
- Experience leading technical solution development for large, complex federal pursuits.
- Experience supporting DoD, Navy, Federal Civilian, or other federal agency environments.
- Experience developing technical strategies aligned with federal mission and modernization objectives.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise technologies, cloud ecosystems, cybersecurity, DevSecOps, data architectures, and emerging technologies.
- Experience collaborating with capture, proposal, business development, and operational teams.
- Experience developing differentiated technical approaches and competitive solution strategies.
