AI Software Engineer

Insight Global is seeking a Mid-Senior AI Software Engineer to support the rapid development of next-generation missile defense and soldier training technologies. This role will focus primarily on accelerating software development for a critical interceptor program targeting flight test readiness within 18 months. The ideal candidate is a strong C++ developer who embraces modern AI-assisted software development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot/Codex, and VS Code AI extensions to improve development speed, quality, and efficiency. In addition to core software development efforts, this engineer will contribute to the integration of small AI models into military training and tactical systems, helping shape the future of AI-enabled defense capabilities.

Bachelor’s degree 6+ years of SW dev, combo of C++ and AI (Machine learning, AI, or edge-deployed AI models) Experience using AI-assisted development tools to improve coding efficiency. Ability to obtain a security clearance.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Familiarity with modern software development environments such as Visual Studio Code Knowledge of model training, fine-tuning, and deployment workflows Experience embedding small AI models into hardware-constrained platforms Experience with embedded Linux, real-time operating systems, or hardware integration
