Job description

Oversees daily operations of multiple departments or campuses within a specific segment of the district. Develops long- and short-term strategies and oversees implementation of them. Responsible for implementing cost saving procedures while increasing performance using multiple inputs and measuring outputs. Will adhere to the execution of district-wide policies, procedures, and programs. Manages multiple development and planning matters within scope of direction., The Chief Transformation Officer is a member of the Superintendent’s Executive Leadership Team who leads the districtwide execution of the Superintendent’s highest-priority strategies and transformation initiatives. The Chief Transformation Officer establishes the systems, structures, routines, and accountability necessary to translate district priorities into coordinated action, measurable progress, and improved outcomes for students, families, schools, and the district

Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead execution of the Superintendent’s highest-priority strategies and transformation initiatives, with clear outcomes, responsible owners, timelines, and measures of success.

  2. Establish routines to monitor progress, identify barriers, maintain focus, and ensure timely follow- through.

  3. Hold executive leaders and initiative owners accountable for results, timelines, decisions, and corrective action when work is off track.

  4. Advise the Superintendent, Executive Leadership Team, and Board of Trustees on major strategic, organizational, and implementation issues.

coordination, progress monitoring, and team effectiveness.

  1. Lead cross-functional initiatives that require coordination across departments, schools, or levels of

the organization.

  1. Support school improvement and turnaround by monitoring implementation, coordinating district

support, identifying systemic barriers, and holding responsible leaders accountable.

  1. Strengthen performance management through clear goals, milestones, interim measures, key

performance indicators, and regular progress reviews.

  1. Lead continuous-improvement practices and build the capacity of district leaders and teams to use

data, solve implementation problems, adjust their work, and sustain stronger results.

  1. Provide the Superintendent, Executive Leadership Team, and Board of Trustees with timely,

transparent information on the progress, risks, results, and next steps of major district priorities and transformation initiatives.

  1. Performs other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities expected for this position., * Computer, computer software programs and peripherals, teacher resource materials and

equipment, copier, fax, and other equipment applicable to position.

  • Frequent exposure to: temperature extremes (hot and cold), humidity extremes, noise. Occasional

exposure to: biological hazards (communicable diseases, bacteria, insects, mold, fungi, etc.

Physical Demands/Requirements:

  • Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions/deadlines; frequent sitting,

standing, walking, climbing, balancing, pulling and pushing; reaching, repetitive hand motions, hearing, speaking clearly, visual acuity and prolonged data input; occasional lift/carry light, moderate 15-44 pounds.

Supervisory Responsibilities / Direct Reports

  • Provides leadership to Management district level roles and lower.

Requirements

  • Salary is determined on directly related experience supported by a service record or experience affidavit. For, leadership experience, market factors, and organizational needs, subject to applicable approvals., * Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university.

  • 3+ years’ successful experience as a principal or district-level administrative leader.

  • Progressive leadership experience to include:

o Planning, Organizing, Staffing, Directing, and Managing employees or teams. o Coaching, Mentoring, Developing, and Performance Managing employees or teams.

  • Valid Texas Teacher Certification

  • Valid Texas Mid-management, administrator, or principal certification or the ability to become Texas

certified.

  • Experience working collaboratively across key departments of a school district.

  • Experience in research related to the design and implementation of new and specialized school models.

  • Experience working with both elementary and secondary level schools and programs.

  • Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee

(approximately $50.00) paid by the employee

Preferred Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Administration, Educational Leadership, or

related field.

  • 10+ years’ professional experience in education or related field.

  • 6+ years of progressive leadership experience to include:

o Planning, Organizing, Staffing, Directing, and Managing employees or teams. o Coaching, Mentoring, Developing, and Performance Managing employees or teams.

  • PK-12 public education experience in a large urban school district

  • Central office experience supervising principals

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Demonstrated experience leading complex organizational change, strategic initiatives, and

continuous improvement efforts.

  • Knowledge of organizational management, personnel administration, budgeting, resource

allocation, and operational planning., * Demonstrated experience in a large, urban K-12 school district or similarly complex public-sector

organization.

  • Knowledge of state and federal requirements related to district and campus accountability,

performance reporting, and improvement planning.

  • Ability to work effectively with the Superintendent, Board of Trustees, district leaders, school

staff, employee organizations, community members, and external partners.

  • Ability to plan, organize, and lead complex initiatives involving multiple departments, schools, and

specialized teams.

  • Ability to assess the effectiveness of strategies, programs, policies, systems, and organizational

practices.

  • Ability to analyze complex problems, identify root causes, develop practical solutions, and support

effective implementation.

  • Ability to use data and performance measures to monitor progress, identify risks, support

decisions, and communicate results clearly and transparently.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, and to establish productive working

relationships across differing roles, perspectives, and levels of authority.
