Experteer Overview Join Roche’s bioscience-focused team to advance next-generation sequencing automation. You will help design and validate automated platforms, integrating AI tools to streamline workflows and reduce bottlenecks. You’ll work with cross-functional partners to translate complex workflows into reliable automation, contributing to scalable, end-to-end sequencing solutions. This role offers hands-on prototyping, design reviews, and impact across research, development, and manufacturing. A meaningful opportunity to shape data-driven, automated genomic workflows at scale. Compensation / Benefits * Translate manual workflows into reliable automation scripts for sample prep, library prep, target enrichment, quantification, pooling, and sequencing * Develop and validate scripts and system performance using analytical equipment and data pipelines * Contribute to architecture, design, and R&D of next-generation automation platforms * Design, build, test fixtures, and support testing of platforms, modules, and sub-systems * Create and maintain documentation including schematics, CAD models, and manufacturing drawings * Collaborate with Assay Development Scientists, Hardware Engineers, Software Developers, and Product Managers; lead cross-functional reviews and present findings Tasks * Degree in Bioengineering or Biomedical Engineering with 7+ years (Bachelor), 5+ years (Master), or 3+ years (PhD) of relevant experience * Deep understanding of sequencing chemistry and workflows * Hands-on experience characterizing and testing complex automation systems for sequencing or diagnostics * Experience with AI-assisted tools to accelerate code generation, schema parsing, and automated test case creation * Proficiency with XML, Python, or proprietary scripting environments for automated instrument steps * Solid experimental design experience * Experience with machine shop tools, measurement equipment, and rapid prototyping * Troubleshooting skills with strong physics, chemistry, and engineering fundamentals Key requirements * discretionary annual bonus * comprehensive benefits per policy
