Software Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Backend Software Engineer to help build and scale the core infrastructure behind an AI voice platform. You will work on real-time systems that manage high volumes of concurrent interactions, integrate with healthcare systems, and orchestrate AI-driven workflows., * Design and develop scalable backend services for real-time voice AI systems

• Build APIs and services that power conversational workflows and integrations
• Work on event-driven architectures handling telephony, streaming, and AI responses
• Integrate with third-party systems and external platforms
• Optimise system performance, reliability, and latency
• Contribute to architectural decisions, infrastructure design, and engineering best practices

• Strong experience building backend systems with Node.js (5+ years)
• Proven experience designing scalable APIs and distributed systems
• Familiarity with real-time or event-driven architectures (e.g. WebSockets, queues, streaming)
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
• Solid understanding of databases (SQL and/or NoSQL)
• Experience integrating with external APIs and third-party services
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Desirable Skills

• Experience with voice or telephony systems (e.g. SIP, WebRTC)
• Exposure to AI systems, LLMs, or conversational workflows
• Experience in healthcare or regulated environments
• Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code (e.g. Terraform, CDK)
• Experience with observability, monitoring, and scaling production systems
