Remote Network Engineer

Our client is seeking a hands-on Network Engineer to support enterprise infrastructure modernization, network operations, and DevSecOps initiatives. This individual will partner closely with Infrastructure, Security, and Engineering teams to improve deployment processes, automate operational functions, and strengthen security practices across the technology landscape., * Design, implement, maintain, and support enterprise network infrastructure environments.

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex networking, infrastructure, and connectivity issues.

• Support infrastructure modernization and automation initiatives.

• Collaborate with development teams utilizing GitLab repositories and source control best practices.

• Build, test, and validate changes locally before deployment through automated CI/CD pipelines.

• Support ongoing migration and standardization efforts related to GitLab and DevOps tooling.

• Manage and support repository security practices including:

o Vulnerability scanning

o Merge request security reviews

o Repository scanning

o New project security assessments

• Partner with Security teams to champion shift-left security and DevSecOps methodologies.

• Support implementation and integration efforts related to Freshworks and other enterprise ITSM platforms.

• Ensure security compliance and remediation efforts are incorporated into development and deployment workflows.

• Create and maintain network architecture, configuration, and operational documentation.

The ideal candidate combines strong networking fundamentals with experience supporting modern development environments, CI/CD pipelines, source control platforms, and security scanning tools.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, maintain, and support enterprise network infrastructure environments.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex networking, infrastructure, and connectivity issues.

Support infrastructure modernization and automation initiatives.

Collaborate with development teams utilizing GitLab repositories and source control best practices.

Build, test, and validate changes locally before deployment through automated CI/CD pipelines.

Support ongoing migration and standardization efforts related to GitLab and DevOps tooling.

5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, or related role.

Strong understanding of:

Routing & Switching

TCP/IP

DNS

DHCP

Firewalls - Palo Alto

VPN Technologies

Load Balancing

Network Security

Experience supporting enterprise network environments.

Experience working with GitLab repositories and source control management.

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment practices.

Experience with vulnerability management, repository scanning, and security remediation processes.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

Experience working within Agile environments.
