Software Engineer

“Position Responsibilities This position is for a Software Engineer on the C2BMC program. The candidate will be responsible for software development in Java for the Regional Applications team in Huntsville, AL, supporting Battle Management Sensor Resource Management (BM/SRM). Under appropriate direction, provides updates to multiple systems, software disciplines, as well as general knowledge of related disciplines, application implications, and customer areas. Responsible for performing analysis and technical support of systems software products, including problem resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support.

Basic Qualifications Experience Required: Experience with object-oriented software development; understanding of searching/sorting algorithms and data structures.Skills Required: Understanding of software engineering and software development with Java, C#, C++, or other equivalent object-oriented programming languages. Additional experience with Python also desired. The ideal candidate will have experience with and knowledge of basic software practices, such as coding standards and configuration management, and will consistently apply them. Engineering procedures, including developing comprehensive unit tests and resolving all SonarQube static analysis findings before merging code. Candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment.

Preferred Qualifications Desired Technical Skills: Experience developing enterprise applications.Familiarity with Java foundation classes and toolkits. Flexibility and willingness to take on unanticipated tasking is highly desirable.Security+ or equivalent is highly desired.”
