Job description

PGTEK is seeking a Datacenter Hardware Technician to join our team in a fast-paced, high-demand environment. This onsite role in College Station, TX involves supporting and maintaining Dell server infrastructure through hands-on hardware troubleshooting, repairs, and installations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, physically capable, and thrives in a collaborative datacenter setting., Hardware Maintenance & Repair

  • Perform break/fix services on Dell servers, including component replacements (GPUs, NICs, memory, etc.).
  • Rack, stack, and deploy hardware in a datacenter environment.

Ticket Management

  • Track, prioritize, and resolve hardware service tickets promptly and efficiently.

Troubleshooting & Diagnostics

  • Diagnose hardware issues using server architecture knowledge and diagnostic tools.
  • Interpret Linux logs for troubleshooting when needed.

Customer Service & Communication

  • Maintain clear, professional communication with internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Provide support with a customer-first mindset.

Physical Datacenter Work

  • Lift equipment (up to 65 lbs), climb ladders, and perform physically demanding tasks.

Team Collaboration & Quality Execution

  • Work closely with peers and cross-functional teams to ensure high standards in all deployments and repairs.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • 100% onsite presence required in College Station and/or Anderson, TX
  • Flexible to work rotating shifts
  • Experience with Dell server hardware in a datacenter environment
  • Hands-on break/fix and diagnostic experience
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift and move heavy hardware (up to 65 lbs)
  • Comfortable working on ladders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Nvidia GPUs and NICs
  • Basic networking knowledge and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with Linux command line (CLI)
  • Exposure to RoCE (RDMA over Converged Ethernet) environments
