Requirements

We are looking for a Senior API Platform Architect with strong experience in API Gateway architecture, API security, Kubernetes, and enterprise API modernization. The role involves leading the migration of enterprise APIs from IBM API Connect to K Gateway (Solo.io), including discovery, assessment, migration design, re-engineering, security governance, and production rollout.

The ideal candidate should have 10+ years of integration experience, 5+ years of API Gateway experience, and hands-on experience with large-scale API Gateway migrations. Strong knowledge of IBM API Connect, REST APIs, OAuth2, JWT, OIDC, mTLS, Kubernetes, Envoy, CI/CD, Terraform, and Helm is required. Experience with Solo.io K Gateway, Gloo, Kong, Kafka, microservices, and event-driven architectures is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities: API discovery and assessment, migration architecture and wave planning, reverse engineering and modernization of existing gateway configurations, API security governance, production cutover support, troubleshooting, and gateway performance optimization.

Nice to Have: Experience with MCP, AI Gateways, LLM traffic governance, and Agentic Architecture would be an added advantage.
