Job description
We are seeking an experienced Epic Application Analyst - Cadence to support the design, build, optimization, maintenance, and enhancement of Epic scheduling workflows. The ideal candidate is a collaborative problem-solver with strong hands-on Epic Cadence build expertise and a passion for improving patient access, scheduling efficiency, operational performance, and the overall patient experience., * Build, configure, maintain, and optimize Epic Cadence functionality across ambulatory and specialty care environments.
- Build and maintain provider templates, appointment types, visit types, scheduling rules, departments, resources, and patient access workflows.
- Configure and support referral scheduling, decision trees, wait lists, provider scheduling, and patient access workflows.
- Collaborate with operational, clinical, and leadership teams to improve scheduling workflows, patient access processes, and provider utilization.
- Analyze business requirements and translate operational needs into Epic solutions and workflow improvements.
- Support Cadence-related implementations, upgrades, system enhancements, optimization initiatives, and workflow redesign projects.
- Troubleshoot application issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.
- Perform system testing, validation, and quality assurance activities for upgrades, new functionality, workflow changes, and optimization efforts.
- Develop and maintain system specifications, workflow documentation, build documentation, test scripts, training materials, and support resources.
- Participate in change management activities and provide end-user education and support.
- Monitor system performance, evaluate user feedback, and recommend process improvements.
- Collaborate with other Epic application teams, integration teams, and third-party vendors to ensure seamless workflow functionality.
- Participate in go-live support, on-call support, and issue resolution activities as needed.
Requirements
- Epic Cadence Certification required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Informatics, Information Systems, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on Epic Cadence build, configuration, maintenance, and optimization experience in a production healthcare environment.
- Demonstrated experience building and supporting:
- Provider templates
- Appointment types
- Visit types
- Scheduling rules
- Departments and resources
- Referral scheduling workflows
- Wait lists
- Patient access workflows
- Experience supporting Epic implementations, upgrades, optimization projects, workflow redesign initiatives, or system conversions.
- Strong understanding of patient access, ambulatory scheduling, referrals, registration, and healthcare operations.
- Experience gathering business requirements and translating operational needs into technical solutions.
- Experience developing test scripts, executing testing, documenting results, and supporting go-live activities.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Epic Cadence
- Experience supporting Community Health Centers, FQHCs, or multi-site ambulatory environments.
- Experience with Epic Reporting Workbench, Clarity, SlicerDicer, or operational reporting tools.
- Knowledge of revenue cycle workflows and scheduling impacts on registration, insurance verification, and billing.
- Experience working remotely with geographically dispersed teams.
- Experience supporting patient access, contact center, referral management, or centralized scheduling operations.
