Job description
We are seeking a skilled Level 2 Network Engineer to provide on-site technical support and operational management of our telecoms network infrastructure. This role is responsible for diagnosing and resolving complex network issues escalated from Level 1 support, maintaining network performance, and supporting network deployments and upgrades., * Provide Level 2 support for network incidents, problems, and service requests
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex faults across IP, MPLS, LAN/WAN, and telecoms networks
- Perform on-site network diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs
- Manage escalations from Level 1 support and liaise with Level 3 engineers and vendors when required
- Monitor network performance and proactively identify potential issues
- Configure, install, and maintain network equipment (routers, switches, firewalls, CPE)
- Support network upgrades, migrations, and new service deployments
- Maintain accurate documentation, network diagrams, and incident reports
- Ensure compliance with SLAs, security standards, and change management processes
- Participate in on-call or out-of-hours support as required
- Travel to customer sites and company locations as needed, including occasional short-notice travel to London and Manchester
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driving License license?, Do you have experience in Telecommunication?, The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in telecoms environments, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently on customer and core network issues.
As part of a small and fast-paced team, flexibility and a proactive attitude are essential. The role will require regular driving to customer and network sites, as well as occasional last-minute travel to London and Manchester to support operational requirements, deployments, or critical incidents., * Proven experience in a Level 2 Network Engineer or similar role
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing and switching
- Experience in a telecoms or ISP environment
- Hands-on experience with technologies such as MPLS, VPNs, VoIP, and WAN connectivity
- Familiarity with network monitoring and ticketing systems
- Ability to troubleshoot under pressure and work to strict SLAs
- Strong communication skills and customer-focused approach
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
- Industry certifications (e.g. CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, or equivalent)
- Experience with vendor equipment such as Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, or similar
- Knowledge of fibre, Ethernet, and last-mile connectivity
- Basic scripting or automation experience
