With technical and leadership expertise, you manage engineers across multiple teams and locations, a large product budget and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally.The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a distributed team of executive software engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

• Define and drive the team’s technical goal, strategy, and roadmap for Hydra, exercising strong technical judgment in line with Core AI Foundations’ goals.

• Participate in and guide architectural and design decisions for a scalable and reliable post-training data storage and management system.

• Manage project priorities and resources effectively, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality solutions in a changing, ambiguous environment.

• Cultivate strong relationships and collaborate effectively with key stakeholders, including GDM, Core ML, and a set of user teams.

Experience owning outcomes and decision making, solving ambiguous problems and influencing stakeholders; deep expertise in domain., + Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.

• 8 years of experience in software development.

• 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.

• Experience with C++, Python, or g3python.

• Experience with Machine Learning.

• Experience with customer engagement, software engineering, and software architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.

• 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.

• Experience working directly with ML research teams and understanding their workflows.

• Deep expertise in building and operating large-scale ML infrastructure, particularly data storage and processing systems.
