Job description

Responsible for ensuring the proper release of vehicle titles when a loan is paid off or refinanced, ensuring that all legal and regulatory requirements are met. This role involves managing title documentation, coordinating with third-party vendors such as title companies, and facilitating the timely release of titles to customers or lienholders. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate records, supporting the loan payoff process, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations related to vehicle lien release and title transfer., * Process and manage title release requests for vehicle loans that have been paid off, ensuring titles are released in accordance with company policies and state regulations.

  • Review and verify loan payoff details, ensuring that all outstanding balances and fees have been paid prior to initiating the title release process.
  • Coordinate with third-party title companies, dealerships, and lienholders to facilitate the timely release of vehicle titles.
  • Prepare and submit necessary title release documentation, including lien release forms, to the appropriate parties (customers, lienholders, DMV) to ensure accurate title transfer.
  • Ensure all title release activities comply with state-specific regulations and internal policies, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of local title and lien release laws.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of title releases, ensuring that all documentation is filed correctly and can be accessed as needed for audits or regulatory reviews.
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding title release, providing clear instructions and ensuring a positive customer experience during the payoff and title release process.
  • Identify and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to title documentation, such as missing or incorrect information, ensuring timely resolution of these issues.
  • Communicate with the loan servicing and funding teams to confirm loan payoff and lien satisfaction prior to initiating the title release process.
  • Track and monitor title release status, following up on delayed or outstanding title releases and ensuring the timely resolution of any issues that arise.
  • Assist with preparing reports on title release activities, including volume, turnaround times, and any issues or concerns, for management review.
  • Ensure compliance with company internal controls and regulatory requirements related to title release processes, including proper documentation and secure handling of sensitive information.
  • Participate in training programs to stay informed about changes in state title and lien release laws, best practices, and company processes.
  • Assist with process improvements, identifying opportunities to streamline the title release workflow and improve operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Work Experience: 1+ years in auto finance operations
  • Previous experience in title management, loan servicing, or related fields, with a solid understanding of vehicle title release processes.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to vehicle titles, liens, and title release requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to review and process title documents quickly and correctly.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple title release requests simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers, lienholders, and third-party vendors.
  • Proficiency in office software, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and other systems used for title tracking and document management.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Customer service-oriented mindset, with a focus on delivering a positive experience during the title release process.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, collaborating with other departments to ensure seamless title release operations.

The pay range for this role is $18.60 - $22.45 hourly.
