Job description

Insight Global is seeking a Storage Product Engineer for one of its largest financial clients. This person will be working in a predominantly Pure Storage environment running Brocade SAN switches, and Rubrik backup. The storage engineering team are responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle, including analysis, evaluation, design, testing, integration and sustained engineering of block storage and data protection products for the client’s enterprise-level storage environment. It is imperative this person has experience in certifying products (Product Certification), and in doing so, has extensive experience with the necessary tools and software’s of the SAN Storage environment, which includes Pure Storage FlashArray, Rubrik data protection products, and Brocade., Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for enterprise storage and data protection platforms, including analysis, architecture, evaluation, certification, integration, and sustained engineering

  • Design and architect storage solutions leveraging Pure Storage FlashArray, Rubrik data protection, and Brocade SAN fabrics to meet enterprise performance, resiliency, and scalability requirements

  • Lead product evaluation and certification efforts, executing structured testing frameworks to validate functionality, performance, reliability, and enterprise readiness

  • Develop and execute product testing strategies across block storage, SAN, and backup platforms, ensuring alignment with Product Development Lifecycle (PDLC) standards

  • Perform hands-on engineering and troubleshooting using CLI tools across storage arrays, SAN switches, and operating systems to resolve complex infrastructure issues

  • Engineer and optimize SAN environments, including zoning, fabric design, performance tuning, and capacity planning across Brocade switch infrastructure

  • Analyze and profile storage performance, tuning I/O paths, network stacks, and system configurations across Linux/UNIX and Windows environments

  • Deliver production-ready storage solutions by translating product capabilities into reliable, scalable enterprise services

  • Produce and maintain detailed technical documentation, including certification reports, architecture diagrams, test plans, and operational runbooks

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (DevOps, SRE, platform engineering) to integrate storage products into enterprise infrastructure and application environments

  • Apply SRE and reliability principles, including SLIs/SLOs, synthetic monitoring, and service-level performance validation

  • Leverage DevOps tools and version control systems (GitLab, SVN) to manage code, test artifacts, and infrastructure configurations

  • Drive root cause analysis and remediation of complex storage and SAN issues, ensuring long-term stability and performance improvements

Requirements

Current or experience within the financial services industry

  • Currently working within an enterprise-level storage environment

  • Strong experience in product testing, product engineering, and/or code certification

  • Proven product architecting experience and understanding

  • Experienced in Pure Storage FlashArray block storage products and/or in Rubrik r6000 series data protection products

  • Experienced in Brocade G series fabric switch products

  • Ability to go hands on with Command Lines (CLI).

  • Capability to follow and deliver Product Development Life Cycle type documentation as part of the product evaluation and certification process

  • Competent in Windows, Linux/UNIX-like operating systems, I/O and network stack tuning and performance profiling.

  • Experience in block storage (Dell, Hitachi), file (Netapp, Dell Unity), and/or backup solutions (Networker, DataDomain).

  • Familiar with DevOps tools and version control systems (SVN, GitLab).

  • Familiar with SRE principles such as user journeys, SLI/SLO, and synthetic probers.

  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and trouble shooting skills. - Experience with engineering and operating a hybrid cloud delivery model with focus on data coherency between on-prem and off-prem components.

  • Proficiency with PowerShell, Python, Bash or other scripting languages with a focus on testing and sound SDLC practices.

  • Familiarity with Elastic Search and Kibana

Benefits & conditions

Compensation: $63.60/hr. - $77.20/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Employees in this role will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package starting on day one of employment, including options for medical, dental, and vision insurance. Eligibility to enroll in the 401(k)-retirement plan begins after 90 days of employment. Additionally, if applicable, employees in this role will have access to paid sick leave and other paid time off benefits as required under the applicable law of the worksite location.
