Job description

We are partnered with one of the world’s largest investment management firms, overseeing more than $2 trillion in assets across global markets. Their technology organization is investing heavily in cloud modernization, AI-assisted engineering, and next-generation trading platforms that support critical front-office operations. They are seeking a Java Back-End Developer to join a team responsible for building and modernizing trading, cash management, and collateral management systems used by portfolio managers, traders, and operations teams., * Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based microservices supporting trading, cash management, and collateral platforms (35%)

Build new cloud-native applications and contribute to ongoing AWS migration and modernization initiatives (25%)
Develop and maintain REST APIs, event-driven services, and distributed systems using modern engineering practices (15%)
Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve code quality, testing, documentation, and engineering productivity (15%)
Partner directly with portfolio managers, traders, and operations teams to deliver business-critical technology solutions (10%)

Requirements

This is an opportunity to work directly with front-office stakeholders while developing high-performance, cloud-native applications that support mission-critical financial systems. The ideal candidate has strong Java development experience, an interest in AI-powered engineering tools, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where technology directly impacts investment decisions and business outcomes., * 3-5 years of experience in Java back-end development

Strong experience building microservices and RESTful APIs
Familiarity with event-driven architectures and distributed systems
Exposure to AWS and cloud-native technologies such as containers, CI/CD, and infrastructure automation
Experience with modern software development practices including TDD, automated testing, and DevOps methodologies
Interest or experience utilizing AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, LLMs, or similar technologies to improve development workflows
Strong problem-solving abilities and desire to work in a fast-paced business environment
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
