Job description
- Review and validate design specifications, control sequences, and integration plans for data center systems (e.g., HVAC, CRAC/CRAH, chilled water, BMS, EMS).
- Coordinate with MEP contractors, commissioning agents, and system integrators to ensure controls systems are installed and programmed to spec.
- Develop and review control logic, I/O lists, and interface requirements for PLCs, DDCs, and SCADA systems.
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Site Acceptance Tests (SATs).
- Responsible for operational start up of Instrumentation across the facility.
- Responsible for completion of cold loop checks on systems.
- Responsible for completion of hot loop checks on systems.
- Support commissioning, start-up, and handover activities, ensuring systems operate within design parameters.
- Responsible for overall Instrumentation and controls systems testing and ensuring the required meets specification.
- Troubleshoot and resolve controls-related issues during construction and commissioning phases.
- Ensure all work is in compliance with data center standards
Authority:
- You have authority to stop the job if you feel there is an unsafe work practice which could result in a risk of injury, have an environmental impact or risk to equipment and other personnel.
- Carry out your duties to meet Quality, Safety and Environmental requirements at all times.
Requirements
- 2 years of experience in controls engineering, preferably in mission-critical or large-scale construction environments.
- Strong understanding of Building Management Systems (BMS)
- Familiarity with commissioning processes and standards .
- Experience working with major BMS platforms (e.g., Siemens, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Schneider Electric).
- Knowledge of HVAC systems, chilled water plants, and backup power systems (UPS, generators).
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across trades and disciplines.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in hyperscale data center projects
- Familiarity with electrical monitoring systems and integration with SCADA/DCS.
- Knowledge of data center Tier standards (Uptime Tier III/IV).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or Revit for reviewing MEP layouts., * Have you worked on large scale construction projects?
