Sr. Software Engineer, Corporate Systems

The IS&T (Information Systems and Technology) organization at Apple builds and maintains mission-critical applications and services that support Apple customers, employees, partners, and products worldwide. IS&T’s Legal and Global Security Solutions (LGSS) Team is seeking an experienced full stack developer to join its engineering organization where you will work with a highly talented team of software engineers and product managers to build scalable and secure solutions that empower Apple’s legal, security and compliance functions. This is a high-impact role which requires owning and driving complex projects while also unblocking other engineers and mentoring them for success., We build and maintain critical tools and services for legal, compliance and security requirements at Apple. We are responsible for eDiscovery solutions for data collection, data preservation, legal holds, knowledge mining as well as law enforcement and privacy compliance tools. We are also responsible for developing key compliance and crisis management tools that protect Apple’s assets, people, and regulatory obligations as well as tools for intellectual property enforcement and fraud prevention. We own the full software engineering lifecycle for all of these solutions from software development and quality assurance to DevOps and sustained production support. “,”responsibilities”:”Your responsibilities will include all aspects of software development from architecture and system design to implementation and maintenance

Design, develop and maintain scalable, reliable and secure web applications

Architect robust solutions while considering performance, security and maintainability

Work with functional leads, business stakeholders, project managers and technical teams in a cross-functional environment to understand requirements and implement solutions

Provide level-of-effort estimations based on thorough research, code study and work prioritization to inform stakeholders of progress and delivery timelines

Perform and ensure rigorous code reviews to ensure high-quality code

Mentor and provide technical guidance to other software engineers

Identify root causes of complex technical issues and deliver robust fixes

Participate in operational duty rotations when needed to resolve production issues and critical customer escalations

Share knowledge through presentations, documentations and best practice discussions

Identify and contribute to process improvements that enhance efficiency and maintainability

Drive innovation for new and existing solutions through Generative AI and other AI/ML techniques

Do you have experience in UNIX?, Familiarity with AI/ML algorithms and frameworks with experience in integrating AI/ML concepts into software design and implementation

Solid understanding of key software architecture principles including load-balancing, system observability, microservices, security, cryptography, performance and reliability

Knowledge of AI-powered Assistant tools and IDE integrations

Knowledge of cloud data warehousing platforms such as Snowflake is highly valued

Hands-on experience in writing components, frameworks and libraries that improve software efficiency and scalability

Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or GCP and CI/CD tools, 7+ years in software development experience in Java with proficiency in Unix operating system, and proven experience in leading a team of engineers

Proven experience in both frontend (React or Angular JS or Vue or equivalent) and backend development

Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining large-scale software systems

Hands-on experience with relational and non-relational databases

Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, to both technical and non-technical stakeholders across cross-functional teams

Bachelors degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent
