Job description
It is the mission of New Mexico’s Game and Fish Department: To conserve, regulate, propagate and protect the wildlife and fish within the state of New Mexico using a flexible management system that ensures sustainable use for public food supply, recreation and safety; and to provide for off-highway motor vehicle recreation that recognizes cultural, historic, and resource values while ensuring public safety.
The Information’s Systems Division (ISD) provides the information technology tools to securely support the mission of the department. Why does the job exist?
Participate in the technical analysis and implementation of enterprise desktop systems, peripherals, and solutions that provide an effective and reliable computing environment in support of Agency goals and objectives and to serve as the Department’s technical support first point of contact for access, usability, and availability issues involving the Department’s information technology resources by providing specialized technical support, configuration, deployment, maintenance, upgrade, patch management, troubleshooting, and related operations and technologies in the Department’s hardware, software, network and infrastructure.
Identify, track, control, and document technical issues while sharing these issues with and communicating these issues to agency users, managers, and ISD staff. In addition, perform technical disaster recovery activities to protect mission-critical data and electronic service delivery structures.
Perform planning and analysis, agency/user coordination, and administrative support functions. Such as implementing established standards for configuring, deploying, troubleshooting, updating, and maintaining systems, software, file structures, programs, procedures, directories, and security and monitor, test and validate enterprise implementations for effectiveness, accuracy, and security. These technologies include both the IT infrastructure (PC’s, servers, network, telecommunications, off-the-shelf applications) as well as in-house development of numerous software applications that enable the Department to perform its business processes effectively and efficiently and provide a significant external e- commerce presence that allows our customers to quickly and securely purchase a multitude product offered by the Department. Requirements
Do you have a valid Driver’s License license?, Do you have experience in Network troubleshooting?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, High School diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of experience in providing technical support to end-users for computer hardware, software, and/or network-related problems. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling two (2) years may substitute for the required experience. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment. Working Conditions
The work will be performed in an office environment. The person will work extended periods seated in front of a computer. The person must be able to operate a computer, keyboard, and mouse. Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs. Position requires occasional 1) travel, 2) night/weekend/holiday work, and 3) call-back work. Supplemental Information
