Senior Systems Engineer, Proposal Development

Experteer Overview In this role you will lead the systems engineering effort for complex SDA proposal development, shaping architectures and technical approaches to competitive bids. You collaborate across Systems Engineering, Software, Program Management, and Business Development to ensure feasible, customer-aligned solutions. You drive risk evaluation, trade studies, and technical baselines, delivering clear documentation and credible BOEs. With senior leadership and mentorship responsibilities, you influence proposal quality and program execution. This position sits at the intersection of advanced space systems and strategic capture, offering meaningful impact on mission-critical communications. Compensation / Benefits * Lead the systems engineering execution of complex proposal efforts, including architecture, BOEs, and RFP responses * Define system architectures, requirements decomposition, interface definitions, trade studies, and baselines for Space and Ground Segments * Coordinate cross-functional collaboration to ensure technically sound and executable proposal solutions * Develop innovative technical solutions, evaluate design alternatives, identify risks, and improve proposal competitiveness * Lead complex system analyses (functional, performance, interface, requirements) and base decisions on data-driven evidence * Manage technical deliverables, proposal schedules, engineering estimates, and milestone execution * Provide technical leadership and mentorship to less experienced engineers and promote best practices in proposal development Tasks * 8+ years of relevant defense, aerospace, or space experience * Advanced knowledge of systems engineering methodologies, model-based systems engineering, architectures, and Agile processes * Excellent communication skills for technical concepts to diverse stakeholders * Ability to build collaborative relationships across multidisciplinary teams * Analytical mindset for solving complex technical challenges and developing innovative solutions * Proactive in identifying risks, improving processes, and mentoring engineers * Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate cross-functional activities to meet deadlines * Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain one Key requirements * base salary * stock options * annual bonus * medical, dental, and vision insurance * 401(k) retirement plan * paid time off and holidays
