Job description

Seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain the network infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of our network environment from firewall configuration and routing to switching and virtualized network security. This is a hands-on position requiring deep expertise in enterprise networking, with a strong emphasis on Palo Alto and Cisco technologies., Design, configure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure including firewalls, routers, and switches Manage and optimize Palo Alto Networks firewall environments, including policy creation, threat prevention, and VPN configurations Administer Cisco routing and switching infrastructure (LAN/WAN, VLANs, inter-VLAN routing) Implement and maintain VMware-based firewall and network virtualization solutions Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and resolve incidents in a timely manner Collaborate with IT and security teams to ensure network architecture aligns with business and compliance requirements Document network configurations, changes, and standard operating procedures Participate in network design reviews and capacity planning

Requirements

5+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering Hands-on expertise with Palo Alto Networks firewalls (configuration, management, and troubleshooting) Strong experience with Cisco routing and switching technologies Experience with VMware firewall / network virtualization Solid understanding of routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF) and network topology design Ability to work onsite in the Waltham, MA area as needed

Required Certifications Cisco CCNP or equivalent demonstrated expertise in routing and switching

Preferred Qualifications Experience working in the life sciences / biotech / pharmaceutical industry Familiarity with network security frameworks and compliance standards relevant to life sciences (e.g., HIPAA, GxP)

Preferred Certifications Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) Cisco CCIE (Routing & Switching or Enterprise Infrastructure)
