Job description

The Data Coordinator supports Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services’ (SFBFS) data collection, reporting, evaluation, and data coordination activities related to programs, partnerships, food distribution and product flow. Working under the workflow direction of the Data Analyst Team Leader, this position assists with maintaining data integrity, running reports, maintaining dashboards, supporting GIS mapping initiatives and providing technical assistance to staff and partner agencies. He/She assists with transforming data into actionable information that supports program evaluation, strategic planning, operational decision-making, grant reporting and community impact measurement.

The Data Coordinator will perform the following job functions (including but not limited to):

  • Support data collection, validation, maintenance, and reporting activities related to SFBFS programs, partnerships, food distribution and product flow.
  • Assist with maintaining organizational databases, reporting systems and data collection tools to ensure accuracy, consistency and data integrity.
  • Assist with development, maintenance and refinement of Tableau dashboards and other data visualization tools that support program monitoring, operational decision-making and organizational reporting.
  • Support GIS mapping and spatial analysis activities related to food access, service delivery locations, partner agency coverage, participant demographics and community needs assessments.
  • Collaborates across departments to improve reporting accuracy, strengthen data quality, support retail recovery reporting processes and enhance organizational understanding of food access trends throughout Sacramento County.
  • Assist with the facilitation of SFBFS’ community food distributions and special food collection and distribution events.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • One to three years of experience supporting data projects, reporting, program evaluation, analytics or related functions.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to communicate data-related information clearly and professionally to both technical and non-technical audiences and strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, validate, analyze and interpret data with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience identifying and resolving data quality issues, including missing information, inconsistencies, duplicate records and reporting discrepancies.
  • Experience working with databases, data collection systems, reporting tools or similar information management platforms and intermediate/Advanced-Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism, integrity, discretion and emotional intelligence, fostering respectful, inclusive and collaborative professional relationships.
  • Valid California driver’s license and insurance.
