Job description
The Senior Software Engineer leads the design, development, and scaling of core application architecture and mission-critical systems. Working within an Agile engineering team, you will write high-performance, maintainable code, architect robust APIs, establish engineering best practices, and mentor junior developers. This role requires deep technical expertise in software design patterns, system architecture, backend/frontend development, and cloud deployments.
Core Responsibilities1. Architecture, Design & Feature Development
- Design, build, and deploy production-ready software features, microservices, and reusable system components.
- Architect scalable, secure RESTful APIs and event-driven backend systems that handle high-concurrency traffic.
- Evaluate legacy system bottlenecks, refactor complex codebases, and optimize application throughput, latency, and memory footprint.
-
Engineering Standards & Code Quality * Enforce rigorous code quality through peer code reviews, continuous integration practices, and test-driven development (TDD). * Author comprehensive automated test coverage (unit, integration, and end-to-end testing frameworks). * Design database schemas, write optimized SQL and NoSQL queries, and manage data migration strategy across staging and production environments.
-
Technical Leadership & Collaboration * Partner with product managers, UX designers, and system architects to translate business requirements into technical execution plans. * Mentor mid-level and junior engineers on software design, debugging strategies, and systems engineering principles. * Lead root-cause analysis and post-mortem investigations for production incidents to ensure continuous system reliability.
Requirements
- Professional Experience: Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, Senior Developer, or Systems Architect.
- Core Languages: Mastery of at least one backend language (e.g., Python, Java, Go, C#, Node.js, or C++).
- System Design & APIs: Proven track record architecting distributed systems, microservices, REST APIs, and database models.
- Database Systems: Strong proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL systems (Redis, MongoDB, DynamoDB).
- CI/CD & Version Control: Advanced experience with Git workflows, automated testing pipelines, and containerization platforms (Docker, Kubernetes).
Preferred Technical Competencies
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and serverless computing models.
- Knowledge of event streaming platforms and message queues (Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS).
- Hands-on experience with modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue, Angular, or Next.js) for full-stack system visibility.
