Job description
- Install, route, dress, terminate, and test low-voltage copper and fiber optic cabling.
- Perform rack and stack of servers, switches, network equipment, cabinets, and supporting hardware.
- Assist with cable management, labeling, documentation, and infrastructure organization.
- Read and interpret rack elevations, floor plans, port maps, and technical documentation.
- Conduct basic troubleshooting of physical network infrastructure and cabling systems.
- Perform equipment installations, hardware replacements, service swaps, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Support power distribution and equipment connectivity within data center environments.
- Follow established Method of Procedure (MOP) and Change Management processes.
- Maintain accurate work orders, project documentation, inventory records, and reporting.
- Collaborate with project teams, engineers, and operations personnel to ensure successful project completion.
- Adhere to all site-specific safety requirements and quality standards.
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior technicians or management as needed.
- Support emergency maintenance activities when required.
Requirements
We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented Data Center Technicians to support the installation, maintenance, and deployment of critical infrastructure within mission-critical data center environments. This role focuses on structured cabling, rack and stack activities, hardware installations, cable management, and infrastructure support. Successful candidates will be comfortable working in fast-paced environments while adhering to strict quality, safety, and operational standards., * Experience working in data center, telecommunications, structured cabling, or critical infrastructure environments.
- Experience pulling, terminating, dressing, and testing Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber optic cabling.
- Experience with rack and stack installations and cable management.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and construction drawings.
- Familiarity with structured cabling standards and industry best practices.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and organizational skills., * BICSI certification or equivalent industry training.
- Experience working in enterprise or hyperscale data center environments.
- Manufacturer certifications related to structured cabling or infrastructure systems.
- Experience using ticketing systems, asset management systems, or infrastructure management platforms.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders throughout the workday.
- Ability to distinguish cable colors and labels.
- Ability to work in overhead, underfloor, and rack-mounted infrastructure environments., * What is your experience working in Data Centers?
