Job description
We are seeking a Systems Engineer to provide engineering support to our Colorado Springs, CO customer locations. Candidate will serve as an on-site technical SME supporting the integration of CyDER, a cyber training range. Additional responsibilities include liaison between CyDER engineering development teams and customers/stakeholders, including other end users for STARCOM’s cyber range development efforts., * Interact with government stakeholders on cyber range design, development, and integration activities
- Coordinate requirements and user feedback with cyber engineering development team.
- Support development and integration roadmap planning for cyber range development efforts.
- Support cyber test and training events.
- As effort grows, help lead multidisciplinary teams in support of cyber test and training range development and integration efforts.
Requirements
- 2-5+ years DoD network engineering experience.
- DoD 8140 IAT Level II.
- Understanding of Windows Active Directory configuration, including Domain Controllers, Exchange, and DNS.
- Experience with operating systems, including Windows and Linux, application behaviors, and network traffic.
- Understand concepts of VMware virtualization technologies, Dell VxRail systems, and related infrastructure components.
- Experience with defensive cyber security tools and technologies.
- Travel: 15-25%
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- An active DoD TS/SCI clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active TS/SCI clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Cybersecurity, or Information Systems
Desired Skills
- Experience with USAF or USSF Cyber Range.
- Understand concepts of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies and automation including Terraform and Ansible.
- 5 years of DOD cyber engineering.
- Direct experience supporting Space Force in cybersecurity or cyber engineering.

In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is ~$95,000 - $140,000; however, PeopleTec considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and critical skills.
