Job description

We are seeking an Interim Data Analyst to join our Data Analyst team on a 4-month contract, based on-site at our Frisco, TX office. This role supports the team’s ongoing reporting and analytics needs, delivering clean data, clear insights, and reliable dashboards to stakeholders. The ideal candidate can ramp up quickly, work independently, and produce dependable results within a defined timeframe. Responsibilities:

  • Extract, clean, and validate data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Build and maintain reports and dashboards to support business and operational decisions.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries to pull and shape data independently.
  • Perform analysis in Excel and Python to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
  • Translate analysis into clear findings and present them to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the Data Analyst team on recurring reporting and ad-hoc requests.
  • Document processes and hand off deliverables cleanly at the end of the engagement.

This list of responsibilities might not cover everything you’ll end up doing.

Requirements

  • Excel (advanced) - pivot tables, lookups (XLOOKUP / INDEX-MATCH), and data cleaning.
  • Python - for data analysis, automation, and working with larger datasets (e.g., pandas).
  • SQL - writing queries, joins, aggregations, and CTEs to work with data independently.
  • LookML - experience modeling data in Looker.
  • Proficiency with a data visualization / BI tool (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or Looker).
  • Strong data cleaning, validation, and descriptive-statistics fundamentals.
  • Clear written and verbal communication of insights to varied audiences.
  • Ability to ramp up quickly and deliver reliably within a short-term engagement.
  • Must be able to work on-site at the Frisco, TX office (onshore).

The following are advantageous but not required:

  • Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., BigQuery, GCP, AWS).
  • Familiarity with ETL / data pipeline concepts.
  • Version control (Git) in a team analytics workflow.
  • Prior experience in a contract or interim analytics role.
