Job description

  • Own the extraction, transformation, and preparation of data from diverse sources using SQL and Python to support advanced analysis and model development at scale.
  • Design, and develop predictive and prescriptive models using statistical and machine learning methods to address complex business challenges and deliver actionable insights.
  • Create clear, compelling visualizations and executive-level presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Lead the transition of models from development to production within the organization’s cloud ecosystem, ensuring solutions are robust, scalable, and operationally effective.
  • Contribute to strategic project planning and prioritization discussions, helping align analytical efforts with broader business objectives.
  • Stay current on industry trends, tools, and emerging methodologies, and apply relevant advancements to continuously improve analytical approaches and solutions.

Requirements

Toyota Financial Services is seeking highly motivated people to fill multiple Data Scientists openings to help our growing Data Science practice. This role to be filled as an individual contributor, with scope aligned to the candidate’s level of experience.

This role is well suited for an individual who thrives at the intersection of advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and business advisory. The successful candidate will bring strong technical and analytical capabilities to data preparation, model development, and insight generation, with the ability to translate complex analytical results into clear recommendations for business leaders and partners. In addition, the role requires the technical expertise to support the transition of models from development into production within an established cloud environment. If you are passionate about delivering end-to-end analytical solutions in a collaborative and dynamic setting, this opportunity may be an excellent fit., * Master’s degree or higher in a relevant analytical discipline.

  • Demonstrated experience developing and optimizing analytical solutions using Python.
  • 3+ years of hands- on experience applying statistical and machine learning techniques to solve complex business problems.
  • Hands-on experience with statistical or machine learning frameworks such as statsmodels, scikit-learn, or PyTorch.
  • Working knowledge of methods such as logistic regression, time series analysis, GLMs, mixed modeling, multivariate statistics, decision trees, gradient-boosted trees, random forests, and neural networks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.

Added bonus if you have

  • PHD in a quantitative or technical discipline (CS, Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, etc.)
  • Experience with version control systems such as GitHub, and familiarity with CI/CD practices to streamline model deployment and code management.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-based machine learning platforms (e.g., AWS SageMaker or Azure ML) to leverage scalable computing resources and tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, effectively navigating and prioritizing complex cross-departmental projects to drive impactful change.
  • Capability to replace and bridge existing legacy infrastructure and processes.
  • Experience working with Data Science outside of a degree-seeking program.
