Job description

We are seeking an experienced SAP Cutover Lead to drive cutover strategy, planning, and execution for a large-scale SAP program. This is an 18-month contract role for a hands-on leader who can coordinate cross-functional teams through mock cutovers, go-live, and hypercare., * Develop and own the end-to-end cutover strategy, master cutover plan, and detailed run-books covering data migration, system conversion, interfaces, and business readiness activities.

  • Lead planning and execution of mock cutovers/dress rehearsals, capturing lessons learned and refining timelines and sequencing ahead of go-live.
  • Coordinate across functional and technical workstreams (Basis, Data Migration, Development, Security, Testing, Business) to align cutover dependencies and critical path.
  • Define cutover governance: command center structure, roles/responsibilities, escalation paths, and go/no-go decision criteria.
  • Manage the cutover command center during go-live, tracking task execution against the run-book and resolving issues in real time.
  • Lead hypercare planning and transition to steady-state support post go-live.
  • Report cutover status, risks, and issues to program leadership and client stakeholders.
  • Ensure downtime windows, rollback plans, and contingency procedures are documented and tested.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of SAP program/project experience, with 3+ full lifecycle implementations in a Cutover Lead or similar role.
  • Proven experience leading cutover for large, complex SAP programs (S/4HANA experience strongly preferred).
  • Utility industry experience preferred (IS-U, EAM, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of data migration approaches, interface cutover sequencing, and Basis/technical cutover activities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; able to lead command center operations under pressure.
  • Experience with cutover tooling (e.g., Excel-based run-books, cutover management tools) and MS Project or similar scheduling tools.
  • Availability to support after-hours/weekend go-live events as required.
