Job description
We are seeking a psychologist who is excited to provide specialized OCD treatment and develop expertise in evidence-based approaches for anxiety disorders.
We are looking for a clinician interested in developing a sustainable specialty caseload, with the opportunity to grow their caseload over time based on their availability and professional goals.
The clinician who joins Red Elm will have the opportunity to:
- Develop a specialty caseload focused on OCD and anxiety disorders
- Provide Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and other evidence-based interventions
- Work with motivated clients seeking specialized care
- Receive ongoing consultation and mentorship from experienced OCD clinicians
- Build a flexible private practice with the support of an established team
- Work autonomously while remaining connected to a collaborative clinical community
Compensation & Practice Support
Clinicians receive a percentage split of our $250 private-pay session fee, with compensation ranging from:
$112.50-$137.50 per clinical hour
Compensation is based on clinical experience, specialty expertise, and alignment with practice needs.
As a 1099 independent contractor, clinicians have flexibility and autonomy over their schedules and clinical workload.
Red Elm provides:
- Flexible scheduling
- Telehealth and optional in-person work
- Private-pay clients (no insurance billing)
- Intake coordination and administrative support
- Electronic health record support and automated billing
- A strong referral pipeline
- Professional development and clinical consultation
Clinical Development & Consultation
At Red Elm, we believe specialty clinicians are developed through ongoing training, consultation, and clinical experience.
Clinicians have access to:
ERP-Focused Consultation
Support in developing skills with:
- OCD conceptualization
- Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)
- Treatment planning
- Managing complex OCD presentations
- Addressing mental compulsions and reassurance-seeking
Anxiety Disorder Expertise
Opportunities to deepen skills treating:
- Generalized anxiety disorder
- Panic disorder
- Health anxiety
- Social anxiety
- Specific phobias
- Anxiety-related avoidance patterns
Collaborative Learning
A practice culture built around:
- Thoughtful case consultation
- Clinical curiosity
- Evidence-based treatment
- Lifelong learning
Requirements
- Holds an active psychology license in Virginia (or is eligible for Virginia licensure)
- Values evidence-based, specialized clinical care
- Is interested in OCD treatment and ERP
- Enjoys working with motivated clients
- Approaches clinical work with curiosity, compassion, and humility
- Values consultation and professional growth
- Wants the flexibility of private practice while being part of a supportive specialty team
Experience with OCD, ERP, or anxiety disorders is welcomed but not required. We are especially interested in clinicians who are eager to deepen their skills and develop specialty expertise.
Benefits & conditions
- I would keep ERP in the title here because that is the search term OCD clinicians recognize.
- I would not over-emphasize “anxiety disorders” because you want someone excited about OCD, not a general anxiety therapist.
- I would keep the same compensation language because the two posts should feel like two doors into the same practice.
- I would probably run the perinatal one first or simultaneously because the niche positioning is likely your stronger recruiter.
Pay: $113.00 - $138.00 per hour, * Flexible schedule
- Professional development assistance
