Job description

Watson Protective Services is seeking an experienced and professional Site Supervisor to oversee daily security operations at one of our premier industrial client locations in Columbia, Maryland. This position is ideal for a motivated security professional with strong leadership abilities, industrial security experience, and a proven track record of managing officers, maintaining site compliance, and ensuring operational excellence.

The Site Supervisor will serve as the primary on-site leader responsible for supervising personnel, coordinating daily operations, maintaining security standards, and acting as a liaison between client leadership and Watson Protective Services management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead on-site security personnel during assigned shifts
  • Ensure all officers maintain professionalism, proper uniform standards, and post compliance
  • Monitor and operate access control, CCTV, and alarm systems including Genetec or comparable platforms
  • Conduct site inspections and ensure all security protocols are followed
  • Coordinate staffing, shift coverage, and officer assignments
  • Assist with incident response, investigations, and emergency management procedures
  • Prepare and review incident reports, DARs, and operational documentation
  • Serve as the direct point of contact for client concerns and operational needs
  • Train, mentor, and coach security officers to maintain high performance standards
  • Ensure visitor management procedures are properly followed using SV3 or similar systems
  • Maintain situational awareness and respond effectively to security or safety concerns

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional security experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience preferred
  • Prior experience in industrial, manufacturing, refinery, or petrochemical environments strongly preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of access control and CCTV systems such as Genetec
  • Experience with visitor management systems such as SV3 preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities, * Leadership and team management
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication
  • Detailed and accurate report writing
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and during emergencies
  • Dependable, punctual, and highly organized
  • Strong attention to detail and operational awareness

Preferred Experience

  • Supervising officers in a fast-paced industrial environment
  • Conducting emergency evacuations and incident management
  • Managing access control and alarm monitoring systems
  • Coordinating with client leadership and emergency responders
  • Training and mentoring security personnel

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Ability to patrol indoor and outdoor areas as needed
  • Ability to respond quickly during emergencies
  • Ability to monitor multiple systems simultaneously, * What access control systems do you have experience with?
