Computer Technician

• Responsible for creating, updating, and removing user accounts, as well as changing group settings and permissions in systems such as Active Directory and Google Workspace.
• Responsible for managing user accounts, permissions, and group settings across administrative systems, including door access control, CCTV security cameras, and phone systems.
• Responsible for physical phone system setup and adjustments, including making extension changes, moving physical phone lines, and setting up voicemail.
• Responsible for printing and programming ID badges.
• Responsible for pulling, running, terminating, patching, and testing Cat6 network cabling throughout district facilities.
• Responsible for mounting and hanging classroom projectors, interactive flat panels, wall/ceiling mounts, and televisions safely using appropriate mounting hardware.
• Responsible for classroom AV technology setup, support, and troubleshooting (projectors, interactive panels, document cameras, sound systems).
• Responsible for setup, deployment, maintenance, and repair of district desktop PCs, laptops, Chromebooks, mobile devices, and printers.
• Performs preventative maintenance, firmware updates, and basic repairs on district technology equipment.
• Performs basic network troubleshooting, including wall jack testing, patch panel cross-connections, and Wi-Fi connectivity checks.
• Responsible for maintaining an organized, clean, and safe technology office, repair shop, and storage facilities (cable management, parts inventory, tool tracking, and e-waste staging).
• Reports all security concerns, hardware failures, and safety hazards to the Director of Technology.
• Logs and maintains detailed records of all completed work orders and service requests in the district ticketing system.
• Responsible for various occasional duties such as assisting with technology setups for special school events, board meetings, and auditorium presentations.
• Any other duties as assigned.

Pay: From $45,000.00 per year

• High school diploma or equivalent; CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Security+ certifications are required.
• 1-3 years of experience in hands-on IT support, field service, or educational technology.
• General knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows, ChromeOS, macOS), and basic networking principles.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with teachers, administrative staff, and vendors.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and testing equipment for hardware and cable installations.
• Required criminal history background check and proof of citizenship or legal resident alien status.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. without restrictions.
• Must be able to stretch forward and up, bend down, squat, climb ladders, and work above drop ceilings without restrictions for required tasks., * Required to stand, sit, walk, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and be able to talk or hear.
• Required to continuously use hand strength to grasp hand/power tools, terminate cabling, and assemble mounting hardware.
• Required to frequently bend, reach forward, squat, and twist at the neck and trunk while working under desks, behind equipment racks, or overhead.
• Required to frequently lift and move up to 40-50 pounds, such as desktop computers, interactive panels, projectors, network equipment, and cable spools.
• Required to push/pull tech carts, equipment dollies, ladders, and workstation furniture.
• Must be able to go up and down steps repeatedly without restrictions, as well as climb and work off ladders safely.
• Must have no physical restrictions for working in varied environments, including indoor classrooms, network closets, overhead ceiling spaces, and outdoor facility areas.
