Job description

Summary: The IT team at iLearn Schools is responsible for the efficient planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of technology systems. These roles include managing daily technology activities, supervising and collaborating with the IT team, and providing comprehensive support to school and central office staff under the direction of the iLearn Schools Director of IT., * Ensure high system availability and performance across all IT infrastructure.

  • Maintain enterprise-wide compliance with security standards and protocols.
  • Deliver technical solutions and support that align with organizational goals.
  • Foster collaboration and proactive problem-solving within the IT team.
  • Provide timely and accurate reports on system performance and incident resolution., * Manage daily technology operations, assigning work and ensuring efficiency across IT team members.
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair technology equipment, including network systems, classroom technologies, and security systems.
  • Administer and monitor the school’s email and network user accounts through G-Suite products.
  • Develop and implement technology needs assessments, evaluations, and long-term plans.
  • Provide training to school personnel on technology systems and devices.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software faults.
  • Collaborate with the Director of IT, Director of Assessment, and CIO to develop and revise technology-infused curricula and oversee technology components of iLearn Schools events.
  • Maintain and update school databases.
  • Oversee the development and submission of E-Rate applications, coordinating with consultants and contractors.
  • Evaluate vendor and service provider contracts to ensure compliance with requirements and cost-effectiveness.
  • Manage technology-related budgets, review requests, and approve/disapprove invoices.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with instructional leaders, vendors, and service providers to enhance the efficiency of technology systems.
  • Attend state-mandated training sessions and ensure readiness for online assessments.
  • Maintain accurate technology inventory records.
  • Promote a positive work environment and model professional behavior.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of IT or CIO.

Reports to: iLearn Schools Director of IT

Requirements

  • IT Manager: Employees are eligible for promotion to the IT Manager position after successfully completing over two years of service with our organization. Candidates must meet the following qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Education, Business, Engineering, or a related field
  • CompTIA or equivalent industry-recognized certifications
  • Proven knowledge and experience in network protocols, switching and routing, wireless networks, VoIP systems, cybersecurity, and fiscal management practices
  • IT Coordinator: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Education, Business, Engineering, or related field. Must demonstrate familiarity with Active Directory, servers, and workstations across Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, and iOS domains.
  • IT Technician: High school diploma or equivalent. Relevant certifications or coursework preferred. Must be able to troubleshoot software, hardware, and electronic devices effectively., * IT Manager: 3+ years of IT experience, preferably in an educational or institutional setting. Leadership experience is a plus.
  • IT Coordinator: 2+ years of IT experience, preferably in an educational or institutional setting.
  • IT Technician: 1+ year of hands-on IT support experience, with knowledge of basic troubleshooting and repair techniques.

  • Ability to plan, organize, and implement technology services at both school and central office levels.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to work well with and guide others.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
  • Ability to maintain a positive, professional attitude under stress-related situations.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and the ability to handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Physical capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds over distances up to 50 feet.
  • Evaluate and use technology in classrooms and ensure long-term efficiency.
  • Collaborate with and train employees on technology usage.
  • Communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.
  • Maintain consistent, punctual, and regular attendance.

Requirements/Environmental Conditions:

Work Environment: This position operates in a professional office environment. Regularly uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary.
