Job description
We are seeking a talented engineer to join our team at US20 - Nokia of America Corp. in the TAO BLSR Space Communication Solutions department. This role focuses on engineering availability and reliability into hardware and embedded software systems, ensuring they perform under extreme conditions. The engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver highly reliable products for aerospace and defense industries.
- Design robust hardware architectures for aerospace and mission-critical applications.
- Select reliable electronic components considering environmental and radiation factors.
- Perform component trade studies and apply derating methodologies.
- Develop fault-tolerant hardware solutions with fault detection and recovery mechanisms.
- Support PCB design reviews for power, signal integrity, and manufacturability.
- Design hardware for extreme environmental conditions, including thermal management solutions.
- Analyze and verify hardware performance under shock, vibration, and thermal cycling.
- Define radiation requirements and select radiation-tolerant components.
- Perform radiation effects analysis and develop Radiation Hardness Assurance processes.
- Support environmental qualification testing and failure investigations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Computer, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Experience in high-reliability hardware and embedded systems design.
- Knowledge of aerospace, defense, or mission-critical systems.
- Strong understanding of reliability engineering and component selection.
- Proficiency in thermal management and environmental qualification.
- Experience with radiation effects and mitigation techniques.
- Familiarity with EMC/EMI engineering and reliability analysis.
- Ability to perform fault-tolerant architecture design.
- Understanding of embedded software fault management.
- Experience with environmental testing and lifecycle management.
