Job description

Job Summary This EO/IR Systems Test Engineer will be deeply involved in and responsible for sophisticated EO (visible-NIR), SWIR, MWIR, and LWIR reflective and refractive optical imaging subsystems specifications and requirements development. Responsibilities include device-level, subsystem-level, and full system-level optical and imaging testing, image quality analysis, and evaluation. The engineer will perform hands-on EO/IR imaging testing both in the lab and in the field as a key member of the Systems Engineering group., * Lead and perform VIS/SWIR/MWIR/LWIR imaging sensors, payload, and full EO/IR gimbal systems testing in labs or product application fields.

  • Perform optical design using ZEMAX tools and conduct tolerance analysis.
  • Perform radiometric analysis, troubleshooting, and EO/IR image sensor and systems performance verification.
  • Develop design verification test (DVT) plans and test procedures.
  • Analyze test data and create detailed test reports.
  • Support the team in developing specifications and requirements for optical components, optical imaging subsystems, and full optical systems.
  • Create, review, and present flow-down specifications for lower-tier optical components and subsystems.
  • Support the New Product Introduction (NPI) process and Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
  • Report progress and findings to functional managers and project leads.
