Job description

Insight Global is seeking a Technical Analyst for a top insurance client in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. This candidate will join a Data Integration and Warehouse team supporting new front-end integrations and Production Support issues tied to Business Unit systems and the Enterprise Data Warehouse. The ideal individual will bring a strong blend of technical analysis, business analysis, data integration, and communication skills. They should be comfortable gathering requirements from business stakeholders, understanding backend data flows, troubleshooting technical issues, and creating clear documentation for development teams. This person should be proactive, curious, and confident asking questions, with the ability to connect the dots across business needs, data movement, technical solutions, and developer execution.

Day-to-Day:

  • Partner with business units to understand requirements, data needs, and how information flows through systems
  • Translate business requirements into concise technical documentation for developers
  • Support integrations into the Enterprise Data Warehouse from Business Unit systems
  • Troubleshoot Production Support issues tied to front-end integrations, ETL processes, and upstream or downstream data movement
  • Read and trace code when needed to identify root causes, without necessarily being hands-on in development
  • Collaborate with developers to resolve complex design, development, and data issues
  • Work with the business to understand portal usage, policy data, billing data, and how agent or insured-facing UI data flows into backend systems
  • Support data movement into Snowflake and upstream reporting or user-facing systems
  • Assist with Power BI usage reporting and related data analysis efforts
  • Lead or support ETL requirements, ETL design, and Informatica-based architecture discussions
  • Conduct impact assessments and size level of effort for larger initiatives
  • Help improve SDLC processes, including opportunities to automate deployments, testing, and impact analysis
  • Work with product owners and IT sponsors to prioritize work and shape the backlog
  • Identify process and technical improvements and help implement them according to team standards

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Systems Analyst, Technical Analyst, or similar role within data
  • Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into clear technical requirements for development teams
  • Strong experience with Data Warehousing, Data Integration, and Data Mapping
  • Proficiency with SQL and relational database tools, including SSMS
  • Ability to read and understand code well enough to trace issues, troubleshoot, and partner with developers
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work directly with business stakeholders, developers, and technical teams

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

  • Insurance industry experience
  • Informatica experience, especially Informatica PowerCenter
  • Snowflake experience
  • Azure cloud exposure
  • Python experience
  • Experience with AI or automation initiatives
  • Experience with CXML integration, ETL, and mainframe ingestion
