Job description
As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organizationâs network infrastructure with a strong emphasis on Cisco technologies to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability. You will play a critical role in supporting business operations by managing network hardware, software, and services, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing network configurations. Your expertise will contribute to the seamless connectivity across various locations and platforms, enabling efficient communication and data exchange. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan network expansions and upgrades, ensuring scalability and alignment with organizational goals. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience with LAN/WAN environments, VPN solutions, firewalls, and Cisco appliances-particularly Cisco Virtual Office (CVO) deployments. This role requires a self-sufficient professional who can operate independently in a secure environment supporting critical operations., * Design, configure, deploy, and maintain LAN, WAN, and hybrid network infrastructures.
- Implement, manage, and optimize VPN solutions (site-to-site, remote access, DMVPN, EasyVPN) and related security policies.
- Configure, administer, and troubleshoot Cisco firewalls, routers, switches, and security appliances.
- Support and manage Cisco Virtual Office (CVO) solutions, including remote unattended deployments.
- Perform network troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, performance optimization, and incident resolution.
- Maintain network documentation, diagrams, configurations, and change management records.
- Ensure high availability, security posture, and compliance with applicable standards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders on network upgrades, expansions, and integration projects as needed.
- Operate independently with minimal supervision in both routine and high-priority situations.
Requirements
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering or network technician roles.
- Proven expertise with Cisco appliances and platforms (routers, switches, firewalls, and related IOS/IOS-XE environments).
- Strong experience with LAN/WAN design and operations, routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP, EIGRP), VLANs, and network segmentation.
- Hands-on experience with VPN technologies and firewall administration.
- Specific experience with Cisco Virtual Office (CVO) solutions.
- Active network certifications required (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent; higher-level Cisco certifications a strong plus).
- Ability to work unattended/independently and live within approximately 50 miles of Martinsburg, WV., * Experience with RF sensors.
- Experience in UAS (Unmanned Aircraft Systems) and/or C-UAS (Counter-UAS) drone operations or related systems.
- Prior work supporting Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Department of Defense (DoD), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), United States Secret Service (USSS), or similar federal agencies.
- Additional security or networking certifications (e.g., Security+, CISSP, or advanced Cisco credentials).
- Familiarity with secure network environments and compliance requirements associated with classified or sensitive systems.

This position requires you to have an active Top-Secret Clearance. A government background investigation will be conducted on selected applicants to determine whether they qualify for access to classified information.

In the spirit of pay transparency, weâre glad to share that the starting pay range for this position is $120-165k annually. If you join ODRG, your total compensation will be influenced by geographic location, contract-specific affordability, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The stated range is one component of our total compensation package and may not reflect the exact pay you receive or guarantee any specific amount for a particular employee.
