Remote, U.S.-based position, with some in-person meetings potentially requiring travel. Occasional evening, weekend, or holiday work required, mainly during emergency activations.
We are hiring a Watch Desk Analyst/Emergency Management Support to serve a federal client.
This remote position is responsible for monitoring worldwide events, assessing potential impacts on the healthcare sector, and producing daily situational awareness reports that support agency decision-making. The role includes scheduled Watch Desk rotations and supports agency-wide coordination before, during, and after incidents.
When not assigned to the Watch Desk, the analyst will support emergency management activities by developing and maintaining program documentation and helping improve emergency management processes. When emergency management is activated, this individual will assist with incident coordination, completing time-sensitive tasks, and collaborating effectively with team members.
The ideal candidate has a working knowledge of emergency management principles, gained through professional experience or education, and can apply those concepts in a federal environment. Strong research, analytical, communication, and teamwork skills are essential, along with the ability to produce clear, accurate reports under tight deadlines.

Our mission is to build strong partnerships through empowerment, knowledge, and trust by delivering innovative and responsible emergency management services., · Provide continuous support to a virtual Watch Desk, monitoring open-source intelligence for hazards, emerging threats, and significant incidents.
· Analyze incoming data and information to identify situations that warrant elevation to leadership for awareness and decision-making.
· Prepare and distribute concise, accurate daily Situation Reports to support the federal client’s situational awareness needs.
· Prepare professional, concise, and accurate verbal briefings during routine meetings and as requested by the client during incidents.
· Participate in daily coordination meetings with internal team members and external partners to ensure information flow, collaboration, and operational alignment.
· Support emergency preparedness and planning initiatives related to Watch Desk functions and broader response efforts.
· Develop written reports and communications on short timelines with minimal revision or oversight required.
Additional Responsibilities Could Include:
· Development and maintenance of emergency operations plans and related emergency management preparedness documentation.
· Threat and hazard identification and risk assessment (THIRA) activities.
· Development, delivery, and/or support of emergency preparedness exercises (tabletop, functional, and full-scale).
· Development of presentations and talking points, training materials and facilitation of training sessions for stakeholders.
· Exercising effective evaluation and documentation of lessons learned.
· Collaboration with other areas of emergency management such as continuity of operations or testing, training, and exercising.
· Management of a digital common operating picture for the agency often leveraging visualization tools and collaborative development environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience in emergency management, homeland security, intelligence analysis, or related field
- Healthcare sector knowledge preferred
- Proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
- 2+ years of experience in emergency management with familiarity of federal emergency management frameworks (e.g., ICS, NIMS) is preferred
- 1-2+ years of experience working in a watch desk or similar position leveraging open-source intelligence for analysis and decision making preferred
- Experience producing government documents, reports, etc. related to emergency management, homeland security, and/or intelligence analysis, preferred., * Background check(s) required to qualify for a Public Trust position.
- Discretion handling sensitive information.
- Accuracy and great attention to detail.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Strong computer skills.
- Skilled in leveraging Microsoft Suite.
- Must take direction well.
- Must be a team player.
- A strong ability to adhere to deadlines and adapt to changes in work tasks.
