Job description

We are seeking a Junior IT Technician to join our IT team. This position is ideal for an IT professional with approximately 2 years of experience who is looking to grow their technical skills while providing day-to-day support to end users and assisting with IT infrastructure. The Junior IT Technician will serve as the first point of contact for IT support requests, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, assist with network administration, and help maintain a secure and reliable technology environment., * Perform Active Directory administration, including user account creation, password resets, and resolving user profile issues.

  • Assist with Microsoft 365 administration, including creating/deleting users and Outlook backup support.
  • Support network infrastructure, including server rack configuration, patching cables/ports, firewall and web filter management, network connections, and basic network troubleshooting.
  • Troubleshoot wireless controllers, access points, and end-user Wi-Fi connectivity issues.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for IT support requests and provide technical assistance to employees.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and network components.
  • Install and troubleshoot network printers and label printers.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot CCTV systems and cameras.
  • Diagnose and resolve desktop, laptop, mobile device, server, and software issues.
  • Perform daily file and folder backup checks.
  • Repair and replace computer and network hardware components.
  • Assist with antivirus, firewall, and security software updates.
  • Maintain and update technical documentation.
  • Support VoIP telephone system accounts and configurations.
  • Assist with IT projects and implementation of new technologies.
  • Manage support tickets and ensure timely resolution.
  • Identify equipment needs and assist with ordering IT hardware and supplies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of IT support or help desk experience.
  • Knowledge of computer operating systems, hardware, and software troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 administration.
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory and NTFS file sharing.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, switches, Wi-Fi, cabling, and firewalls.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently and efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work well with others and provide professional support to end users.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledge or exposure to emerging technologies such as Arduino, RFID, and Raspberry Pi is a plus.

Education

  • IT Engineering Certificate preferred.
  • IT Network Science Diploma or Certificate preferred.
  • Combination of IT certifications, technical training, or related education is acceptable.
  • Relevant certifications (such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft certifications) are a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for computer and equipment work.
  • Ability to reach, pull, and handle IT equipment.
  • Ability to lift and carry computer hardware, networking equipment, and servers as needed.
  • Must have clear vision and attention to detail.

Benefits & conditions

Full Time 8:00am - 5:00pm

Part Time 8:00am - 12:00pm
